The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) organized an introductory workshop for the College of Mass Communication students at Al Falah University in Dubai with regards to safeguarding their private information.

Khaled Al Hammadi, Director of Security and Control, said: "The workshop is part of raising the awareness of university students about how to take precautionary measures in the face of cyber-attacks that affect technical systems and programs, especially since these systems that are used on networks and social communication platforms.”

"The workshop highlighted spyware, phishing and pirated messages, e-extortion, privacy risks, passwords hacking, and unsafe data deletion," he added. The workshop also addressed the issue on how to report in the event of loss of smart devices and how to contact the relevant authorities.

He ended the workshop by concluding: "The RTA's endeavor in this type of workshop stems from the RTA’s pioneering experience in protecting information and data according to the approved international standards."
